And so it begins. This is the start of a "high tech but retro looking dune buggy". The new Manx Kick-Out SS body style is the basis for that style. This car will end up in Connecticut where we live as a street buggy. I aslo hope to add a lot of street rod style tricks to this ride. The body is on the waiting list while Bruce Meyers does some hood improvements because he didn't like the way the molded in headlights came out. I asked for an early (1971 - 1972) chassis because we have a lot of criuse nights & car shows on the east coast with a 1972 cut-off. And Kevin delivers just what I need. Thanks! Tom

Yes, much progress is being made. Nice jig to line up the chassis while it is being shortened. That should help when you do more of them "down the road". Thanks for the update. Tom

I think Kevin is pretty much done with the chassis. I am waiting for Bruce Meyers to finish the Kick-Out SS kit. The chassis and kit will then be shipped to my home in Connecticut where the real fun starts. The engine & transaxle are waiting. I do not expect to finish the build until Spring of 2011. Tom

Tom,

Your right, we are pretty much done untill we receive the body from the Meyers. We have to pick up the shocks and springs as soon as we get word that the body is done. We just don't want to have the shocks sitting here getting old and with no movement (not real good for the seals).

I will post somemore pictures later.

Mika, did you have anything you would like to see, or questions I can answer????

The body kit is done. The kit and chassis will be shiped to the east coast next week. Then the real fun starts. "Some assembly required!" Tom

After more delays (none of which were Mendeola's or Kevin's fault) the chassis and Kick-Out SS kit arrived toady. I was able to check out the work on the chassis and it is very good. I just bought a set of 944 Turbo brakes off "The Samba" so I will be doing a brake update as part of the build. Nice job Kevin. Tom
